The office of the special prosecutor has pinpointed some key findings concerning the alleged rot at the Tema Harbour.

The special prosecutor has finally published its key findings about the consequences and the degree of the alleged rot or bribery and corruption at the door steps of The Tema Harbour.

 

Surprisingly, the alleged corrupt activities involves a company (Labianca) owned by one respectable member of the Council of State and the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).

 

After the OSP publication of the Key findings, the pressure forced for the call for discussion on our national Economic growth rate and the impact it has on the citizenry. This became crucial, Especially as electricity and water tariffs increments are going to take effect coming September.

 

Key findings from the office of the special prosecutor

1.The Office of the Special prosecutor found out a naked evidence implying that, The Deputy Commissioner of Customs Division in charge of operations influenced the employment of Ms. Asomah Hinneh as a member of the Council of State and again a member of Board of Directors of Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority just as a tool to issue Customs advanced rulling.

2. This alleged rot happened after appointing Mr. Edu Kyei as Deputy Commissioner of Customs Division in charge of operations

3. Because of this ill idea, The Deputy Commissioner influenced the election of Ms. Asomah as a member of Council of State and afterwards appointed her as a member of governing Board of Ghana Ports and Harbours. This shows, Mr. Asomah is a politically exposed people under section 79 of Act 959

4. OSP received a documented complaint against Labianca group of companies.
