2023 Academic Calendar Released for Senior High Schools and Basic Schools against next Academic year.
2023 Academic Calendar is eventually Released by Board members of Ghana Education Service responsible for qualitative and Dynamic academic affairs and curriculum implementation.
The board in Collaboration with West African Examination Council (WAEC) Sketched a provisional and well standardized academic calendar for the 2023 academic year.

Categorization of the seasonal Calendar:
Schools implementing Double track system as a matter of deficit in infrastructure has been brought to a halt under the new level.
The system is now such in a way that only second years will be in school at any point in time.
It is estimated that, each years group needs to spend not less than 4,302 contact hours as a maximum duration throughout the potential three years to spend on campus.
Year three students are expected to spend a maximum of 34 weeks in 2023 with a total contact hours of 1, 360.
Form two’s will rather spend 33 weeks maximum in school with 1, 320 contact hours. This seems to be too ridiculous but that is the reality on the grounds.
Year one students will spend 27 weeks maximum which is a generic contact hours of 1,080.
The new transformation introduced into the educational settings fully restricts year three students from enjoy long break or holidays. This arrangement became very crucial in order to pave way for first and second years to converge in school. Beside this, government has created a vacuum in the various colleges of education by expanding their admission rate so as to help absorb the free SHS students.
2023 Academic Calendar Released
Another advantage of the current arrangement and phenomenon is that, the burden and work load of teachers are going to be reduced drastically sense they will get enough break.
Year three and two students will reopen on 9th January 2023 and go on vacation on 9th February and 17th Much 2023 respectively.
Form one’s will reopen on 20th February and go on break 21st April 2023.
