The heart is actually an important organ of the body and hence one must know how the heart works.

This is how the heart works; first of all deoxygenated blood enters the heart through the superior vena cava. From there, it moves into the right auricle then into the right ventricle. The tricuspid valve is forced to close to prevent the back flow of blood. The blood moves through the pulmonary artery into the lungs where it is oxygenated. After oxygenation, the oxygenated blood enters the heart through the pulmonary vein into the left auricle and then left ventricle. It is the sent to all parts of the body through the aorta.  The walls of the left chamber of the heart are thicker because they receive blood under high pressure and transport it to all parts of the body.

 

The heart has four chambers namely, the right auricle,the left auricle, the right ventricle and the left ventricle. There are serious disease that affect the heart such as leukemia, hypertension, hypotension, heart attach etc.

Ways of protecting the heart includes constant or regular exercise, drinking enough water, taking fruits and vegetables, reduce sugar and salts intake,
