Which Senior High Courses are more advantageous in this era of ours which will in turn creat job opportunity for the applicant?
Do not be bias but be logical taking into consideration our generation and the field of work. There are about seven major courses offered in many Senior Secondary Schools across the country. They are; General Science, Agriculture Science, Home Economics or Home Science, General Arts, Virtual Arts, Business and Technicals.
However, many of these courses have many derivatives and segments but their values remain the same. Everyone is entitled to his or opinions but frankly speaking, one of the most exuberant courses I will personally prescribe to a love one today are;
1. Home Economics,
This is a practical course usually meant for preparing the learners towards careers in sewing and food & nutrition. It is a skill oriented course which provides self employment If properly learnt. As Africans as we are, many people have illusionary perception that the course is meant for women. This has created a greater level of gender imbalance in the field. Due to this, as a guy, if you study this course with passion, your services are worth fighting for.
2. Virtual Arts and Technical courses. These are also fantastic areas when it comes to self employment. People have weaker perception that, certain courses are meant for people who are academically dull. This ideology has rendered these courses useless in the eyes of the perceivers. Every one is uniquely created and well gifted. Your ability to solve calculus and balance equations does not make you special. These are areas that gives you practical skills and innovation to creat or invent.
3. Science and Agric Science.
Agriculture for instance are studied by students without passion. Agric is about growing of crops and rearing of farm animals. An individual with the love of the above mentioned areas is supposed to read agric science to enable him or her land in the farming sector. This course only becomes useful and profitable if you have the passion to enter into farming. General science in Ghana is only useful if one wants employment in government sector relating to health e.g Doctors, nurses, midwives, physicians and all health related areas. Apart from this science is limitless in Ghana. You can not creat even a tooth brush. This is not to demotivate you but to hit the nail on the head. We have university fully responsible for science and technology. Apart from producing students into the health sector, what valuable invention has this university discovered to solve mans problem let alone to creat employment?

4. General Arts
This course favours only those who have full control of French or english language. Apart from this, it will be difficult to creat adequate job for yourself. Very experienced or gifted people may decide to write books or articles for online publication as an employment. This is not easy for many people.
Business
This area is only good for people with entrepreneurial abilities. The cause can not creat direct job unless you are ready to sell or establish financial institutions for yourself which is financially dependent as a beginner in life. Lets guide our siblings and children rightful in choosing their courses of study to avoid the mistakes committed by us especially during our era of course selection.
