The National Health Insurance Scheme System in Ghana has a Stagnant Power – Minister of Health. According to the minister of health, the National Health Insurance Scheme has lost its value in the health sector.
He added that, due to the porosity nature of the system, insignificant debt kept on compounding making it difficult for government of Ghana to clear all the debt.
There are alot more diseases that are out of the sphere of the NHIS. This has led to shortage of drugs in the various health facilities and chip compounds in Ghana.
He admittedly said that, there is no denying of the fact that the NHIS is doing more harm than good.
The minister of health still has strong believe that, if alot more efforts than before is directed towards the by Noon NHIS, health care challenges can be minimized significantly if not automatically eradicated. We are not in the normal times hence all the challenges need to be equally distributed among humanity.
He promised to take a bold step to improve the quality health care system in Ghana. The promise is to make sure health care becomes uniquely appreciated by all.
