3rd term reopening date and calendar, week endings and BECE 2022 • Educational Healthy News

The 3rd term of the 2022 academic year beckons, as all schools are expected to reopen in the coming week. Per the directive of Ghana Education, after agitations among parents and teachers, the infamous semester timetable was changed to a new Trimester school calendar.

Per the new Trimester, schools are officially to resume on Tuesday, 13th September 2022 for the final lap of learning activities in the third term.

How many weeks are in the term third school calendar for 2022?

Per the new academic calendar, schools are expected to run for a total of 14 weeks in the third term of 2022.

This means schools will vacate latest by 16th December 2022 for the Yuletide.

The 14 weeks calendar implies that there will be at least 11 weeks of engaging academic work, 1 week of revision, and another week for examination, and the final week in December will be the holiday week.

The end of the 14-week term-three-calendars will also see the promotion of school children to new levels or classes for the commencement of the 2023 academic year.

2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE)

The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has scheduled the 2022 BECE examination to be administered from Monday 17th October to Friday, 21st October 2022.

According to the West African Examination Council (WAEC) timetable, the 2022 BECE shall commence on Monday, 17th October, and ends on Friday, 21st October 2022.

This means the students in Junior High School 3 will end their third term halfway and take their Junior High School leaving examination from October 17th, 2022.
