Bringing the issue to proper scrutiny one could understand that, the school management wouldn’t have allowed the students to use the toilet facility as dormitory if they have had enough accommodation facilities.
According to source, the maximum number of students placed in the school this year was far more beyond the capacity of the school. The school requested a number far below the number of students admitted into the school.
GES has tried had to abolish the double track system indirectly. Even though this was a good news, they could not expand their infrastructure capacity to meet the accommodate challenges of these students. The calculations or the mathematics behind The number of students admitted into the school for 2022/2023 academic year was based on double track system.
As the system was canceled and two year groups are to come to school at the same time, accommodation deficit poop up its ugly head. The school was then forced to take these immediate decision to help curtail the problem.
Going forward:
Now Ghana Education Service has instructed the Head of the School to step aside with his Senior House master while investigations are made. In this country if an order is given from the high office instructing you to step aside, then there is a deeper meaning to it than you may think. It significantly means you have ninety nine percent chance of loosing your job. People starting questioning themselves whether the intervention of the media was the problem or the whole issue was politicized. We are praying to see a positive outcome of the ongoing investigation.
