The 17th Matriculation of Bolga midwifery training college took off recently. All hidden things were vomited out to help curtail the sudden happenings in the school as well as nursing and midwifery fraternity.  Bolgatanga Midwifery Training college cries to government for employment deficit.

According to the Principal, Christiana Amalba, inadequate staffing is a prominent weapon kicking against the progress of the school as a whole. According to her, last year, the school has to sorrowfully reject the application of 570 qualified applicants why because they lack the requisite number of staff as well as hostile facility to help  fully carry out their mandates.

The poor staffing of the school is increasing exponentially. Some tutors just vacate post and travel outside the country for more succulent greener pasture. In view of this teaching and learning is underestimated to a very deaden degree. This issue of inadequate staffing of the school started long ago. Seemingly, there is no attempt on the pipe line to help nullify this disaster.

She also added that, another exacerbating developing phenomenon is about hostile facility. The already existing hostile has deteriorated to the highest form of exuberant. Meanwhile the interior angle of the existing one has nothing to write home about. It is incapacitated hence can only accommodate a handful of students. All these factors commutatively made the school intoxicant for carrying out its intended purposes.

They are pleading to the government of the Republic to team up with his vibrant team by letting the skeleton out of the box to have a second look at their school. Madam Christiana said ‘even though we are not in normal times but we will appreciate any little effort to uplift the school’

They also added that the rate at which graduate nurses stay in the house unemployed is alarming if something can be done to post nurses as early as possible.
