New Education reforms outlined by Minister of Education, Ghana Education Service and National Council for Curriculum and Assessment.
Emphatically, quality education is very prominent in every society hence, forms the number one skeletal framework for all forms of development. Based on the rapid transformation and advancement in Technology, New Education reforms outlined by Minister of Education, Ghana Education Service and National Council for Curriculum and Assessment will go along way to bring sustainable development, according to findings.
The transformation gymnastics will take this form:
Our known Kindergarten, primary school which consist of uper primary and lower primary, Junior High School as well as the Senior High School would all be considered Basic schools. Moreover, JHS 1,2,3 and SHS 1 shall be refered to as BS 7,8,9 and 10 respectively. This means SHS 1 Shall be called BS 10.
Besides the above, all students in JHS 1-SHS 1 shall run a common core programme called CPP which comprises nine subjects. (maths, languages, science, Religious and Moral Education, Physical and Health Education, career technology, social studies, computing and creative Art and Design.
To add to that, there will not be ECE again. A new form of examination called National standard assessment test(NSAT) will be conducted at primary 2,4,6 and JHS 2.
Again, Basic Education Certificate Examination will be substituted by placement exams at J.H.S 3 to enable students in enter S.H.S At SHS 1. My Students will sit for common core exams into SHS 2.
Lastly, at SHS 2, students will now have to select whether to enter into career related field or programme thus, vocational and technical programmes or he or she has the mandate to offer a high school diploma programmes such as science, business, arts etc. WASSCE will be replaced by university entrance examination.
