Formal Pro-Vice Chancellor of University of Ghana, Joined Pensioners Picketing.
It is quite unfortunate that the phenomenon of economic banter is escalating at a high speed. It has become very clear that, doom is befalling our country and that one may wonder whether government can pay salaries of public workers in the next six months. The Formal Pro-Vice Chancellor of University of Ghana, Professor Kweku Osam deem it neccessary to join Pensioners Picketing at Ministry of finance.
Pro.Osam pinpointed certain pertinent key findings that have the tendency to ruin life:
1. Pensioners publicite their health conditions. He said due to the refusal of government to exempt pensioners bond holders in the debt exchange programe, a medical doctor with kidney problem and want to engage in dialysis has tell the whole public about how bad his medical condition is because the money he has with government is been denied him which is barbaric.
2. No country has ever developed from constantly borrowing from the International market. He added that why should you borrow hugely and use such monies for construction of National Cathedral which has become a white elephant.Over borrowing is a social and economic canker, he added.
3.Government has broken the trust system governing government investment schemes. He said he has no trust in any public investment scheme.
Besides, He said a great lesson should be taken from 1984 revolution. It took about 30 years before people started trusting the banks. Now that most banks are collapsing following what just transpired in terms of bonds, how will i advice my children to invest in government ventures?
