Warning signs of blood clot in your body: Blood clotting is a process that normally occurs when there is damage to blood vessels  to prevent excessive bleeding. When bleeding stops at the injured site, blood clotting breaks up. Sometimes, things may not go well and something wrong can happen and clot may form in any part of your body.
If a blood clot forms in any part of your body, it can cause serious life-threatening conditions. Knowing the early warning signs of a blood clot in your body will help you to detect it on time to prevent its complications.

Blood clots can also form in your arteries. The blood vessels which carry blood from your heart to your body cells and tissues. When a blood clot occurs in the arteries, it can be life threatening, because the various cells, tissues and organs will be deprived of oxygen and nutrients, which can cause organ damage.
Blood clots usually form in the lower part of your body. It mostly occurs in the legs, especially in people who sits at one place for a longer time. Early warning signs of blood clot in your body
1. Lungs. When a clot forms in the lungs, it’s called pulmonary embolism. Pulmonary embolism usually occurs as a result of a clot in the deep vein  in your legs or arms.  This clot in your leg or arm can break off and travel to your lungs and cause pulmonary embolism. This condition is extremely serious and needs immediate medical intervention. Some signs you may experience are
a. Chest pains
b. Difficulty breathing with profuse sweating
c. Sudden cough
d. Dizziness
e. Chest tightness
Do not ignore these symptoms. Seek  immediate medical help.
2. Clot in the legs and arms. When a clot forms in the deep vein of  your leg or arm, it’s known as deep vein thrombosis. Deep vein thrombosis is dangerous because the clot can break up and travel to your brain, heart , lungs or kidneys, and blood clot in any of these major organs is serious and needs immediate medical attention.
Some signs of clot in your arms or legs are
a. Change in skin color. The skin around the affected area becomes reddened and itchy.
b. Swelling. Swelling can occur in the affected part, or the entire arm or leg.
c. Edema. There will be edema on the affected leg or arm as a result of poor venous return.
d. Pain. You may feel a throbbing pain in the affected part.
e. Warmth skin. The skin around the affected part may become warm to touch due to the presence of pain. / Warning signs of blood clot in your body:
3. Clot in the kidneys. The presence of clot in your kidneys may affect their functions there by causing waste accumulation in the body.  It can also cause high blood pressure, and if not attended to, may lead to kidney failure.
4. Brain. Blood clots in the brain can be life threatening. The clot can start somewhere in the body and travel through the bloodstream to the brain. This can cause stroke instantly. Some signs and symptoms of clot in your brain are
a. Slurred speech
b. Weakness in the legs, arms and face
c. Difficulty speaking
d. Paralysis, especially on one side of the body.
e. Seizures
f. Disorientation
5. Heart. Blood clot in the heart may cause
a. Severe chest pain or tightness
b. Chest pain that radiates to the arms
c. Difficulty breathing
d. Sweating
e. Rapid heartbeat
6. Abdomen. Abdominal blood clots can cause
a. Bloody stool
b. Nausea and vomiting
c. Belching
d. Diarrhea
e. Severe abdominal pain
