The negotiations of the Base Pay has ended without any proper outcome.
Government moved to 18% but Labour still rejected.
Labour is still demanding for the 60% due to the economic hardship.
The next stage is meditation by NLC if the parties are still not able to reach any agreement in the foreseeable future.
Labour is very resolute because things are hard.

Early this morning, labour unions representatives were interviewed on Citi FM in connection with the base pay salaries increment.
It was astonishing for the host and some Ghanaians to hear that, labour commission has increased the proposed 60% base pay to 65%. To the labour unions, this became very necessary after the budget was read and its content was disheartening

The read budget purported to increase VAT rate by 2.5%. This clearly shows that, government workers are going to suffer limitlessly incase it starts to operate.
They also commented that the Cola which used to cushion salaries abit is going to be scab off by the end of December bring salaries to square zero.
The host threw a question to them that, there is no money in the country so how can salaries be increased as much as 65%. They answered furiously that, the slogan that there is no money in the country is just a mere fallacious statement government used to cripple workers.

How can the bonus and allowances alone of some civil servants be more than twice the salary of a government worker in different juridiction with the same qualification or with even better qualification.
They pinpointed at all sort of allowances some categories of people receive in the country to the neglection of others. Some individuals benefit from fuel allowances, transport allowances, accommodation allowances, clothing allowance, car allowance after giving them super flamboyant cars and houses to stay.
How then can one prove to the ordinary Ghanaian that there is no money in the country? so they added.
