On tv3’s recorded that, About 4, 000 health workers and nurses leave the country every year or annually. The ministry of health has disclosed that about 25, 000 Back lock of nurses and other health professionals are in existence in the country.
This includes the graduate nurses , Midwives and other health professionals from 2020 through to 2023.
Out of this, about five hundred of them travels outside every six months or less. About Eight thousand nurses and health professionals who were permanently employed into Ghana Health Service have good bye the service to foreign countries.
Based on this, nurses would be posted to the various health centres across the country coming September.
The Ministry of Health made this known when people started bombarding themselves with unanswered questions as in the rate at which these health workers leave the country for Greener pasture.
The ministry has created an awareness that, no matter the number of nurses and other health care professionals leaving the country, the health sector will still work perfectly based on the huge number of nurses employed previously.
In discussing on tv3, stallholders well versed in the affairs of the country were called to thoroughly digest the issue.
It was agreed that looking at the economic hardship and the high rate of unemployment in the country most especially among nurses and other health professionals hence government should recruit latest by September to stabilize fatigue.
It was discussed that, if the country can not recruit nurses produced every year by the various Nurses and Midwives Training Institutions, government should stop bonding them.
They added that, the allowance system must also be cancelled to pave way for infrastructural Development in the Schools so as to increase the capacity of students to be admitted into the various Nurses Training colleges across the globe.
Besides, government should seize the bonding of nurses so That they can travel freely after completion of their study.
