CHASS Warning To GES on Free Senior High Semester System.
Just Yesterday, there was a press release on CHASS warning GES over the Semester System inculcated into our Senior High School.
According to Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools, (CHASS) the semester system in SHS has brought about redundancy and haphazard retrogression of academic work.
CHASS solemnly agreed that, it is vital for the usual trimester system which has been in operation for years based on its efficacy to be revisited. The Assistant General Secretary for CHASS, Eastern Region Chatter, said, tutors are desperately irritable about the current system at hands.
CHASS Warning To GES
This has forced to eliminate in totality the relaxation period of teachers. Teachers no longer go on holidays and that, teach all year round. It harshly brings about fatigue which has a calming effect on academic excellence,he lamented.
The secretary made those pronouncement during a press conference organized in Koforidua municipality on Saturday 15th October, 2022. He added that, as a matter of immediacy, the system should be readjusted in conformity with the olden system.
No incentive is given to masters who made such sacrifices to teach all year round. He said, this has actually brought about family mismanagement leading to family conflicts as a result of sharing inadequate time with the family.
The Eastern Regional Secretary for CHASS together with other regions promised of letting the skeleton out of the box by collaboratively taking immediate intervention to spell out nakedly to Ghana Education Service the damaging effect of the continuous application of the semester system.

It is rather sad that, out of tiredness, some masters are forced to deliver shabbily. Let not play politics with our educational system. In every country, quality education is the sole key for enhancement of sustainable development. Positive Educational frame work is our weapon around which other forces are built, he added.
